Building Employment Opportunities

IMG_0145.jpeg

With support from the Department of Jobs, Immigration, and Growth (JIG), CCA delivers employment services directly within our five partner community centre neighbourhoods. Through active outreach, engagement, personalized support, and referral, we work closely with individuals to help them navigate their employment journey.

Our goal is to enhance employability, build self-reliance, and foster long-term independence for those facing barriers to employment. Over the past two decades, CCA has become a trusted presence in the communities we serve, offering consistent, results-driven support that adapts to the evolving needs of our residents.

The Value of Work, Value of Money program is an 8-week employment and life skills initiative designed to support youth in our neighbourhoods. Each summer, ten youth gain paid work experience at their local Community Centre while participating in weekly sessions focused on career development, personal growth, and financial literacy.

Funded through the Department of Jobs, Immigration, and Growth (JIG), the program empowers youth to take ownership of their educational and financial futures. The program continues to evolve each year and was nationally recognized in 2011 by First Work for “Best Partnership with Employers.”
